- What is Camera Parking?
Camera parking is an automated system available in select parking garages that uses License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology to manage your stay.
How does it work?
Entry: High-definition cameras at the entrance automatically read your license plate as you drive in. If the feature is active in your app, your session starts immediately.
Automatic Billing: Instead of waiting in line at a machine, the payment is processed automatically using the credit card or payment method linked to your EasyPark account.
What happens when I leave?
When you drive toward the exit, the cameras recognize your plate again and automatically end the session. You don’t need to press any buttons or open the app to stop the timer.
How do I know if I was charged?
Once you exit, the EasyPark app will display a summary of your session. It will clearly show if the parking was free (based on the garage's specific rules) or if a charge was applied to your account.
Important Reminders
Check Compatibility: Not all parking garages support automatic camera parking. Look for the EasyPark logo and camera signs at the entrance.
Verify Your Session: Always double-check your phone upon entry to ensure the session has started. If it hasn't, you may need to start it manually in the app or use the local payment machine.
Operator Rules: If the app doesn't allow you to start a session, the operator may require payment directly through their own website or on-site terminal.
Pro Tip: To use this feature, make sure "Camera Parking" is toggled ON in your vehicle settings at least 15 minutes before you arrive at the garage!
