We’ve all been there—life gets busy, and sometimes stopping your parking session is the last thing on your mind. If you realize your session is still running, the best first step is to stop it manually in the app immediately.
What happens if a session is forgotten?
If a session isn't stopped manually, it will continue to run until it reaches the maximum stay duration allowed for that specific parking zone. At that point, the session ends automatically, and the total cost is calculated based on the full time elapsed.
A note on refunds
At EasyPark, we collect parking fees on behalf of cities and parking operators. These funds are treated similarly to a parking tax, and we are required to transfer the full amount to the operator. For this reason, we are unable to offer refunds or adjust costs for sessions that were forgotten.
Three ways to never forget again
We want to empower you to stay in control of your parking. Here are three features designed to keep your experience worry-free:
Set an End Time: When you start your parking, use the time wheel to set an estimated end time. The session will stop automatically when time is up, so you only pay for what you planned.
Smart Notifications: Enable Reminder Notifications in your app settings. You can receive free push notifications or SMS alerts (2 SEK per message) to remind you that a session is still active.
Live Activities: On the latest version of the app, your active parking session stays visible right on your lock screen. A quick glance at your phone is all it takes to remember you're still parked.
Is your session already over?
If your session has already ended and you feel there was a technical error, or if you need help navigating your history, our team is here for you. While we cannot refund forgotten sessions, we can help you set up your reminders to ensure it doesn't happen again.
