Receiving a fine is never fun, but we’re here to help you figure out what happened. By understanding the "why," you can ensure your future stays are stress-free and help keep our cities moving smoothly.
Step 1: Check Your EasyPark App
The first thing to do is investigate your digital history. Open the app and go to Activity > History.
Active Session: Was there an active parking session at the exact time the fine was issued?
Zone Match: Does the zone number in your app match the one on the street signs where you parked?
License Plate: Did you select the correct vehicle? Even a one-digit difference can lead to a fine.
Step 2: Look at the Fine Itself
The physical ticket is your best source of information. It usually contains:
The Reason: Common codes include "Payment Missing," "Expired Time," or "Reserved for Permits."
The Issuer: It will show if the fine was issued by the Municipality (public streets) or a Private Operator (garages or private lots).
The Location: Check if the address or zone listed on the ticket matches where you actually left your car.
Step 3: Common Reasons for Fines
If you had an active session but still got a fine, it might be due to one of these:
Prohibited Times: Some zones have "service days" or "cleaning hours" where parking is forbidden, even if you pay.
Permit Zones: You might have parked in a spot reserved for residents or disabled (HC) permit holders.
Incomplete Payment: Check if your payment method was valid. If a card was declined, the session may not have started.
Still Unsure?
If the app shows everything was correct, you’ll need to contact the organization that issued the fine directly.
Important: EasyPark provides the payment service, but we do not issue or control parking fines. Only the operator or municipality can review or cancel a ticket.
Find Contact Info: Look at the back or the bottom of the fine for a phone number or website.
Provide Proof: If you appeal, include a screenshot of your EasyPark receipt (found under Activity > History) to show you had a valid session.
