Navigating parking permits can be tricky, but we’re here to make it clear. Whether you have a residential permit or a disability (HC) permit, here is how it works with the EasyPark app in Sweden.
Can I link my permit to the app?
Currently, it is not possible in Sweden to link a physical or digital parking permit directly to your EasyPark account. * Separate Systems: Parking sessions started via EasyPark are handled independently from your municipality-issued permit.
Billing: If you start a session in the app, it will be billed at the standard rate (plus any service fees) even if you hold a permit for that area.
Residential Permits
If you have a residential parking permit (boendeparkering) from your city:
Check Your Municipality: Most cities (like Stockholm) have their own digital portals or specific apps for managing residential permits.
Manage Directly: Applications, renewals, and payments for your permit must be handled through your local municipality’s website.
When to use EasyPark: Use the app when you are parking in a zone not covered by your permit or when visiting a different city.
Disability (HC) Permits
To keep things moving and cities accessible, we follow these guidelines for disability permits:
Registration: It is not possible to register an HC permit in the EasyPark app.
Verify the Rules: Some operators offer free or discounted parking for permit holders, while others require payment through their own specific systems.
Camera Parking: In areas with camera-based entry/exit, you should contact the parking operator beforehand to "whitelist" your license plate so you aren't charged automatically.
Key Things to Remember
Read the Signs: Local signage will always tell you if a permit is required or if permit holders get a special rate.
Double Payments: If you accidentally pay via EasyPark while your permit was valid and active, we unfortunately cannot offer a refund, as the payment is processed as a standard visitor session.
