Stickers & Parking Discs: What’s Changed?

In our journey to make cities more livable, we’ve moved toward a fully digital ecosystem. This reduces waste, simplifies the streets, and saves you time. Because parking enforcement is now tied directly to your license plate, physical markers are mostly a thing of the past.

Do I still need a parking disc or sticker?

In short: No, in most cases. Parking attendants now check your session by scanning your license plate. Since your payment is registered in our digital system, a physical disc or sticker is no longer required in Sweden and most other European countries.

Why was the physical sticker discontinued?

  • Digital Excellence: We’ve upgraded our technology so that your license plate acts as your digital "ID."

  • Sustainability: By removing the need for plastic stickers and paper discs, we help keep our urban environments cleaner and more sustainable.

  • Reliability: Digital checks are faster and less prone to human error—like a sticker falling off a sunny windshield.

Are there exceptions?

While we are pushing for a digital-first future, some local regulations haven't caught up yet.

  • Local Requirements: In a few specific cities or countries, a visual indicator may still be mandatory.

  • App Alerts: Don’t worry—if you’re parking in a zone that requires a sticker, the EasyPark app will clearly notify you before you start your session.

  • Handwritten Note: If you are in a "sticker-required" zone and don’t have one, a simple handwritten note on your dashboard saying "EasyPark" is usually accepted by attendants.

How to get a sticker (if required)

If you are traveling to a zone where a sticker is needed, you can generate one for free directly in the app:

  1. Open the Menu in the EasyPark app.

  2. Tap on Account.

  3. Select Order Sticker (or "Digital Sticker").

  4. A digital version will be sent to your email immediately. You can print it at home and place it in your windshield.
