We understand it’s unfortunate that you forgot to stop your parking and that you didn’t mean for your parking session to run longer than planned. When a parking session is forgotten and not manually stopped, it will automatically continue until the maximum parking time allowed in that zone. The total cost is then calculated from the time you parked until the session ends.
EasyPark collects parking fees on behalf of municipalities and parking operators. Because these fees are considered a form of parking tax, we are required to transfer the full amount and therefore cannot modify or refund parking sessions or costs.
How can you prevent this in the future?
To help avoid forgetting to stop a parking session, the EasyPark app offers several helpful features:
✔ Reminder notifications
Set up free push notifications or SMS reminders (€0.25 per message) to receive a timely alert when your parking session is still active. You can activate this in the app via 'Notification settings'.
✔ Set an end time
When starting a parking session, you can set an end time using the time wheel. This way, you’ll know in advance how long you’re parking, what it will cost, and the session will stop automatically at the selected time.
✔ Live activity on your lock screen
With the latest version of the EasyPark app, your active parking session is displayed directly on your phone’s lock screen, making it almost impossible to forget you’re parked.
