How do I dispute a parking fine?

If you have received a parking fine and believe it was issued incorrectly, you can dispute it. This must always be done with the authority that issued the fine. Below, we explain how the process works.

1. Who issued the fine?

EasyPark does not issue parking fines. Fines are issued by:

  • The municipality (for parking on public streets)

  • The operator or owner of a private parking facility

The contact details of the issuing authority are usually listed on the fine itself, either on the back or at the bottom.

2. Check why the fine was issued

Before disputing the fine, it is important to check whether it was issued correctly:

✔ Did you violate local parking regulations? Consider:

  • Parking outside of permitted hours

  • Exceeding the maximum parking duration

  • Parking in a reserved space without a permit

  • Failing to pay for parking in a paid parking zone

✔ Did you enter the correct zone number for the location?
✔ Was the parking session started with the correct license plate?
✔ Was there an active parking session at the time the fine was issued?

If any of these points are incorrect, they may explain why the fine was issued.

3. How do I dispute a fine?

  • Read the instructions on the fine → The dispute procedure is usually mentioned on the fine itself.

  • Submit your dispute to the correct authority → EasyPark cannot do this on your behalf.

  • Provide supporting evidence → This may include proof of payment, a screenshot from the EasyPark app, or other relevant documentation.

  • Submit your dispute within the deadline → Municipalities and parking operators enforce strict deadlines for disputes.

Important: You are responsible for submitting your own dispute. EasyPark cannot assist in this process.

4. When can a fine possibly be revoked?

In some cases, a fine may be revoked if an administrative error was made. This is determined by the authority that issued the fine.

✔ The fine was issued while you had an active parking session, and all details were correct.
✔ You received a fine for an incorrect license plate, but you can prove you paid for the correct vehicle.
✔ There was a permit holder or special exemption situation that was not correctly processed.
