Why was a parking session started when I wasn't at the location?

Sometimes, a parking session may be started even though you were not physically at the location. There are two common reasons for this:

1. An old vehicle is still linked to your account

If you haven’t removed an old vehicle from your EasyPark account and automatic license plate recognition is still active, a parking session may be triggered when that vehicle enters a garage with camera-based entry. The costs will then be automatically charged to your account.

What can you do?

  • Turn off camera parking (license plate recognition) for vehicles you no longer use:

    • Open the EasyPark app.

    • Go to ‘Vehicles’.

    • Tap the three dots next to the license plate.

    • Switch off ‘Automatic license plate recognition’.

  • Remove the old vehicle:

    • Open the EasyPark app and go to ‘Vehicles’.

    • Select the old license plate.

    • Tap ‘Remove this vehicle’ to delete it from your account.

Note: You are responsible for managing the vehicles linked to your account. Make sure only vehicles you actively use have automatic camera parking enabled.

2. Incorrect license plate reading

In rare cases, the license plate camera may incorrectly read a plate. This could cause a parking session to be started on your account even though you were not at the location.

What can you do?

  • Check the parking session details in the EasyPark app (such as time and location).

  • Contact our customer service team. We can review the situation with you and investigate what happened.
