What is a charging point operator (CPO)?

A charging point operator, often shortened to CPO, is the company or organization that owns or manages a charging station. This party is responsible for maintaining the station, setting the pricing, and ensuring it works properly.

EasyPark partners with a wide range of CPOs to make their charging stations available through the app.

What does a CPO do?

The charging point operator is responsible for:

  • setting the charging rate (e.g. per kWh or per minute)

  • managing the technical operation of the station

  • deciding the station's accessibility (public or private)

  • providing support in case of malfunctions

Why is this important to know?

Because EasyPark is not the owner of the charging station, we:

  • have no influence over the pricing

  • cannot control how the station operates

  • do not have direct contact details for the CPO

If there is a technical issue with the station itself, it's best to contact the CPO directly. Their contact details are usually displayed on the charging station.
