What is Autostop and how does it work?

With Autostop, your parking session is automatically stopped as soon as you leave the parking location. This prevents unnecessary parking charges and provides extra convenience.

Note: Autostop is only available in certain vehicles with Android Automotive. Check the EasyPark app to see if your car supports this feature.

How does Autostop work?

Autostop can work in two different ways, depending on your vehicle:

1. Speed-based detection (if supported)

  • Once you drive faster than 25 km/h with an active parking session, the app automatically sends a request to stop the session.

  • This is the fastest way Autostop operates.

2. Location-based detection (alternative method)

If speed-based detection is not available, the app uses your location to determine if you have left the parking area:

  1. The app compares your current location with the last parked location.

  2. If your car is more than 1 km away, the parking session stops automatically.

Important:

  • Background location access must be enabled for this feature to work.

  • The app does not track your location continuously but checks it every 15 minutes. As a result, the parking session may stop slightly later.

  • EasyPark does not store location data – the location is only used for distance calculations.

How do I check if my car supports Autostop?

You can verify if Autostop is enabled in the EasyPark app:

  1. Open the EasyPark app via your car's display.

  2. Go to Settings and look for Autostop.

  3. Check if the feature is enabled.

If your car does not support Autostop, you will need to manually stop your parking session via the app.
