How it Works

In most cases, if you officially dispute a parking fine, the payment requirement is put on hold while the operator reviews your evidence.

• Don’t Pay Yet: If you plan to challenge the fine, generally you should not pay it immediately. Paying is often seen as an admission of the infraction, which can make it harder to get a refund later.

• Follow the Instructions: Every parking operator has slightly different rules. Make sure to read the back of the fine carefully—it will tell you exactly how to submit your appeal and what happens to the payment deadline in the meantime.

• Refunds: If you have already paid the fine and your dispute is later successful, the parking operator is responsible for issuing your refund.
